Scottish Orientalist and geographer Colonel Sir Henry Yule correlates the famous travels of the Venetian Marco Polo with their present day locations, clarifying his routes by identifying the medieval geographic place names used by Polo and his transcribers, and matching them with their present-day locations and names.
With has a frontispiece and illuminated title page to each volume. With numerous vignette and full page illustrations to each volume, and with sixteen further plates and folding maps - many in colour - to volume I, and a further sixteen to volume II.
Collated, complete.
With the stamp 'Supplied for Public Service' to each title page, and the stamp 'Ex Libris C. Parfit' to title page versos and final leaf of each volume.
Rebound in calf, with endpapers renewed.
