The very scarce first edition, with the ads to the rear dated 1874. 

In the publisher's original cloth. 

This medical work was written by Sir John Eric Erichsen, a British surgeon. The work focuses on concussion to the spine and other nervous system injuries, with Erichsen being an expert and known authority on the subject, often giving evidence in court on cases of railway spine.

Birmingham Law Society copy with their bookplate and stamps.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally sound with joints tender to the head, slight bumping to the extremities of the boards, fading to the spine and minimal loss to the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. 'Birmingham Law Society' bookplate to the front pastedown with hinges tender. Internally generally firmly bound with only the slightest strain, with clean and lightly age toned pages with the odd stamp from the 'Birmingham Law Society'.
