Description
Illustrated, Uncommon
A handsome and uncommon copy of this limited edition work, bound in smart 3 quarter scarlet morocco, with marbles boards.
Decorated with charmingly delicate gilt tooling between, and to, the raised bands of the spine, a gilt top edge, and a colourful book ribbon.
One of only 550 printed, or which, this is no. 168.
Features an illustrated half title, and 19 unnumbered monochrome plates throughout.
Collated from a copy held by the British Library, complete.
Plate between pp.66-67 and pp.134-135 are loose, but present, and slotted inside.
Condition
Bound in 3/4 red morocco and marbled pictorial boards. Externally, in lovely condition. Slight rubbing to leather and to spine tips. The odd marks to boards. Very small losses to leather to extremities. Marbled endpapers. Internally, firmly bound, with some signs of strain. Pages generally bright and clean, with the odd spot, and occasional offsetting opposite plates. Small newspaper clipping lightly tipped in to front blank.
