Preceded by a treatise on the principles of cookery, with cross references inserted where applicable, and classified lists of recipes under such headings as jams, ices, puddings, sauces, and soups. Includes an appendix with articles on kitchen utensils, seasonable food, and a glossary of terms. Dated from the University of Glasgow Library.
Condition
Bound in full cloth. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and fading to the spine. The odd small mark to the boards. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. A contemporary ink inscription and the previous owner's bookplate to the front endpaper.
