In the publisher's original decorative cloth. 

This work was written by George Fredrick Pardon under the pseudonym 'Captain Crawley'. Pardon was a English journalist and writer on topics such as sports and games. This work provides a guide for card player's with descriptions of games such as 'Whist', 'Loo', 'Cribbage' and all round games. 

Publisher's advertisements to the rear.

Undated. Dated by the preface and copies found at the British Library.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with marks to the boards, fading to the spine, light rubbing to the joints, bumping to the extremities and very small closed tears to the head and tail of the spine. A past owner's signature to the front and rear pastedowns with offsetting from the signature to the rear free endpaper, light spotting and front and rear hinge tender. Lacking front free endpaper. Internally binding starting in places with cords showing with lightly age toned pages and occasional scattered spotting.
