In this philosophical study, Birk explores the idea of utilitarianism, in particular how it can be applied to modern day life. Birk presents and compares the views of three esteemed philosophers regarding the subject, being those of William Paley, John Stuart Mill and Jeremy Bentham.

Condition

Bound in the publisher's original blue cloth. Externally, very smart, with rubbing to the extremities and joints. A little bumping to spine head and tail. The odd mark to cloth. Internally, generally firmly bound. A few leaves are strained, particularly the gatherings between 195-206. Pages are bright and clean, with light spots to the first few pages. Ink notation to half title and front endpaper.
