Picquigny, a French Capuchin theologian from the early modern period, interprets, analyses and explains Saint Paul's thirteen letters addressed to early Christian communities in the first century CE. These letters remain essential to Christian liturgy and Picquigny's interpretation remains a crucial theological work to this day.
Volume 1 focuses on Paul's epistle to the Romans, the longest of Paul's letters and at the head of the New Testament Canon. Volume 2 focuses on Paul's first and second letter to the Corinthians, while volume 3 focuses on Paul's letters to the Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Thessalonians. Volume 4 delves into Paul's letters to Timothy, Titus, Philemon, as well as including Saint Paul's fourteenth letter to the Hebrews. Today, this letter is often not counted, due to a historical consensus that it was written anonymously.
