In the publisher's original red cloth binding, with gilt kangaroo to front board. Prize binding, with additional 'Northwick College Prize 1878' in gilt to front board and prize bookplate to front paste down. Externally generally smart with bumping to extremities and head and tail of the spine, resulting in loss to cloth. Front hinge strained. Internally binding strained in places. Pages generally bright and clean with just marginal age toning.
