This work comprises twelve essays on cathedrals, including, but not limited to: 'Cathedrals in their Missionary Aspect' by A. J. B. Beresford Hope, 'Cathedral Reform: Past - Present - Future' by Rev. F. C. Massingberd, and 'Cathedral Schools' by Rev. T. C. Durham.
Edited by John Saul Howson, a British divine and school master who served as Dean of Chester Cathedral and Principal of Liverpool College.
Condition
In the original purple cloth binding. Externally, smart, with fading to the spine and rubbing and bumping to the extremities. With tail of backstrip coming away to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. With the bookplate of one Donald Buttress to the front free endpaper and light spotting to the first and last couple leaves.
