Each volume features a beautiful chromolithograph frontispiece and numerous black-and-white in-text illustrations. Collated complete.
This edition follows Cassell's Popular Educator, first published in 1852, and offers technical guidance in countless areas such as civil engineering, mining and quarrying, photography and many more. Includes essays by significant British designer Christopher Dresser that later appear in Dresser's Principles of Decorative Design.
Condition
In publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart with slight bumping and rubbing to all volumes. Moderate tide mark to the front board of volume one, otherwise good condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages mainly bright and clean with the exception to spotting heavier to the first and last few pages. Slight tide mark to the edge of the first few pages of volume one, including the frontispiece.
