Very scarce work. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, title vignette, thirty-five plates, sixteen of which are in colour, and numerous in-text images. Collated complete. A collection of hymns, verses, and short stories for children about the year. With titles such as: Winter in the Country, A Lesson from a Sparrow, Spring Flowers, Sabbath Bells in June, The Rising Moon, and November Bonfires, amongst others. From The Religious Tract Society, a British evangelical Christian organization founded in 1799, known for publishing a variety of popular religious and quasi-religious texts in the nineteenth century. Dated from the British Library.
Condition
In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Age toning to the endpapers.
