Previously owned by the noted mathematician, David Singmaster, Singmaster was the emeritus professor of mathematics at the London South Bank University, and is known for providing the first mathematical analysis of the Rubik's Cube.

This work was written by John W. Colenso and provides a guide to arithmetic, for the use of schools. The study covers multiplication, division, fractions, proportions and much more. 

Bound in quarter cloth.

Condition

In the publisher's original quarter cloth. Externally generally smart with slight bumping to the extremities, closed tear to rear joint, minor rubbing and wear to the extremities with very small closed tears to the head and tail of the spine, and marks to the boards. Signature of David Singmaster to the front free endpaper, with light spotting to the endpapers. Internally generally firm with minimal age toning and light spotting.
