What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

A vanishingly scarce work, recorded as held by only the Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum Research Library, the University of Leeds' Brotherton Library and the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution.

This work details the inspiration for the design of the ecritoire, and is illustrated with nine plates. Collated, complete.

Edited and compiled by Sir Jerom Murch, a key figures in Bath’s political and cultural life in the nineteenth century, serving as Mayor seven times.

Murch supported initiatives to help the poor, improving Bath’s water supply and sanitation.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent, with instances of light fading to perimeters of front board. Front hinge a touch strained, but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with scattered spotting, and the odd instance of foxing.
