Written by Francis Orpen Morris, an Anglo-Irish clergyman and "parson-naturalist" who authored many children's books and books on natural history. He was a pioneer of the movement to protect birds from the plume trade and was a co-founder of the Plumage League.
Condition
In the original cloth bindings. Ex-library copy, with stamps to the front boards and spine tails. Externally, with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Front hinge strained to Vol II strained and rear hinge is tender. Hinges to Vol III tender. Splits to the backstrip of Vol III. Damp staining to the boards. Scuffed library bookplate to the front pastedowns. Internally, binding is strained. With scattered spots throughout, heaviest to the first and last few leaves.
