What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Leather Binding, Very Scarce
Present here is the vanishingly scarce First Report, 'with the minutes of evidence up to 5th August 1869', published in 1870. With a lengthy appendix to the rear.
The second volume is the scarce 1871 'Second Report of the Royal Sanitary Commission, Vol. 1. The Report'.
The commission these reports were produced for aimed to assess the effectiveness of existing sanitary laws and recommend reforms to improve urban and rural hygiene.
Drawing on extensive evidence from medical officers, engineers, and local authorities, the reports covered topics such as water supply, sewage disposal, housing conditions, burial practices, and disease prevention.
With the stamp of the Ministry of Health Library to a front blank, and to a small number of further leaves.
These reports aimed to promote a systematised approach to public health in response to persistent outbreaks of cholera, typhoid, and other preventable diseases.
