    A two volume set. 

    Bound in a uniform full calf binding with gilt details to the spines.

    Illustrated with monochrome frontispieces, and one coloured plate to 'Reminiscences'. Collated, complete. 

    This set features two biographies on the life of Felix Mendelssohn, the celebrated German composer, and pianist of the early Romantic period. The works also contain some of the composer's correspondences.

    Condition

    Bound in full calf. Externally very smart , slight marks to the boards, rubbing to the joints and extremities, with front joint starting to the head of the front joint, and minimal loss to the head of the spine to 'Recollections'. Internally firmly bound with spotting to the front and rears, owner's signature to the front blanks, and minimal age toning,
