A serio-comic blank verse narrative poem, originally published in 1847. The poem tells the story of a heroic princess who forswears the world of men and founds a women's university where men are forbidden to enter. Written by Alfred Tennyson, an English poet who was the Poet Laureate during much of Queen Victoria's reign.

Condition

Bound in full red morocco with gilt. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
