Rebound in full cloth, with endpapers renewed. Retaining the original half title, with the publisher's original cloth bound in to the rear.

American historian Francis Parkman was best known as the author of 'The Oregon Trail: Sketches of Prairie and Rocky-Mountain Life', and his seven-volume work 'France and England in North America'.

This volume discusses Rene-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle's discovery of the American West.
