Contemporary ink inscription dated 1870 to the front endpaper. 

In the publisher's original cloth binding.

A comprehensive study into the birds one would find in Somerset.

According to the author Cecil Smith in the preface, she wrote it with the motive that there was no other Somerset-based study of birds published at the time.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart with rubbing to the extremities. Head of spine slightly bumped. Marks to the boards and pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with the odd spot to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
