First edition. With a frontispiece illustrated by John Brett, a British artist associated with the Pre-Raphaelite movement, mainly notable for his highly detailed landscapes. Engraved by James Davis Cooper, a British wood engraver. A detailed guide to yachts and yachting, with chapters on sailing, existing yachts, hull shape, elements of design, sails, wire rigging, and very small yachts. Written by Edwin John Brett, an English editor of the Victorian period. Bound by Burn & Co.

Condition

In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Light fading to the spine with minor discolouration to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd spot. Light age toning and further spotting to the endpapers. Sticker to the front pastedown. Bound by Burn & Co.
