Leather Binding

All three volumes are in Latin. Collated, volumes 3, 4 and 5 of the original 5 volume set only. Uniformly bound in an a half morocco binding. Previously the property of Melchet court library, Romsey. Melchet court is now the site of St. Edward's school. This religious text is a guide to the theories and concepts of Lohner's Religious beliefs alongside several sermons. Tobias Lohner was an Austrian Jesuit theologian. He became a Jesuit on 30 August 1637 and spent his early years teaching classics. He was a professor of philosophy, speculative theology and moral theology at Dillingen over the course of several years. He wrote many works in both Latin and German, particularly on asceticism and moral theology.

Condition

In half morocco bindings. Externally, smart. Rubbing to the spines, particularly to the raised bands and joints. Some rubbing to the paper covered boards also. Institutional Stamps from Melchet Court, Salesian Theologate to recto of front endpaper, and rear endpapers to all volumes. Library bookplate to front pastedowns of all volumes alongside ex-library lending plate. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned due to paper used with spotting to the first and last few pages.
