Six very scarce 19th and 20th century reports of the health of the Royal Navy, analysing health data over the course of six decades.

Present here are the reports for the years 1869, 1870, 1875, 1909, 1910 and 1915. 

Drawing from surgeons' logs, hospital records, and ship reports, these volumes provided detailed tables categorising illness and mortality by disease type, location, season, and shipboard conditions.

Tables, some of which are folding, highlight the prevalence of fevers, scurvy, and respiratory diseases, and emphasised the role of poor hygiene, inadequate diet, and cramped conditions in fostering illness.

These works helped establish a tradition of military health surveillance, likely contributing to later developments in public health and epidemiology.
