An enlarged edition of a paper read before the Theological society of the Assembly's College, Belfast, on March 5th, 1868. It was published in this form to be presented to the students who had heard it, and to engage others on an important moral question.
Written by Robert Watts, Professor of Theology at the college. This paper presents Watts' views on the principles of utilitarianism, exploring the ideas of eminent figures in the field, including those of John Stuart Mill and Alexander Bain.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's original blue paper wraps. Externally, very good, with a stamp and pencil notation to the front cover. Light edge wear to wrap and the odd mark. A little chip to the backstrip head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with an ink notation to the title page.
