This work includes chapters on the United States of America - including Virginia, Michigan, Colorado, and Utah - Canada, Mexico, the Pacific Islands, Maori communities, Australia, Tasmania, and much more. Written by Sir Charles Wentworth Dilke, an English Liberal and Radical politician. A republican in the early 1870s, he later became a leader in the radical challenge to Whig control of the Liberal Party.
