A scarce first edition copy of New Poems by Arnold Matthew.
With inscriptions in ink by former owner "Bought at the sale of his library at Sotheby's" to recto free endpaper, and "Dora. from Vera. 1887." to title page.
In the original publisher's green cloth binding.
Condition
In the original publisher's green cloth binding with gilded decorations and and gilt titles to the spine. Externally, some bumping to the head and tail of spine, as well as slight wear to the extremities. Otherwise, very smart. Internally, firmly bound, though hinges are slightly strained to the front board. Pages are very clean throughout. Small tear to free endpaper. Inscriptions in ink to recto free end paper and title page, dated 1887.
