This copy is undated. Dated here suing Jisc from copies held at various institutions including the British Library, University of Cambridge Librarues and the National Library of Scotland. 

Dickens is one of the most popular authors of the Victorian age. His novels show the grimy side of poverty and prosperity in Victorian England, showing poor social conditions alongside repulsive characters.

Illustrated by Hablot Knight Browne, most often known by his pen-name 'Phiz'. As Phiz, he illustrated many of Dickens' novels, including 'David Copperfield' and 'Bleak House', as well as illustrating for 'Punch' throughout his life.

Condition

In a green half morocco binding with marbled paper boards by Mudie. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing to extremities and boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with the odd handling mark and one or two spots, heavier to first and last few leaves and fore edge. Pages typically age toned.
