This collection of legends and ballads were collected by Egerton Leigh. Leigh was a British soldier, politician and author and came from an ancient Cheshire family. This work contains a large collection of ballads, poems and legends from Cheshire with additional musical compositions and illustrations.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with fading to the spine and head of the boards, the odd very light mark to the boards and bumping to the extremities. Past owners book plate to the front pastedown with marks to the rear end papers and binders label to rear pastedown. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with light scattered spotting heavier to the front and rear. Scattered spotting to the fore edge.
