A comic series of Mrs Caudle's pedantic and petty lectures to her husband in bed just before night time, when he has to lie and listen. The series was originally published in famous periodical Punch in 1845.
Written by Douglas William Jerrold, an English dramatist and writer.
Illustrated by Charles Samuel Keene, an English artist and illustrator, who worked in black and white.
With the publisher's advertisements to the rear.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and board edges. Small splits to the cloth at the head and tail of the spine as well as the board tips, with minor loss to the head of the spine. Hinges tender. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Light age toning to the endpapers.
