    First Edition, Leather Binding, Rebound

    The first edition of this work. A history of the origins of Christianity and the apostles by Ernest Renan, French Orientalist and Semitic scholar. In lovely morocco binding. No half title.

    Condition

    Rebound in full straight up grain morocco binding with five raised bands, gilt tooling to spine and boards, gilt to edges, new marbled endpapers. Externally very smart with light rubbing to head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Odd minor marginal pencil annotation to occasional leaf. Light spotting scattered to leaves.
