First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

First edition. Very scarce work. A charming work on the acts of Christ, with reference to Christ as the source of joy, the healer of the sick, the lord of nature, the prince of peace, and the fountain of life. Written by Ellen Clacy, a clergyman's daughter, an English writer who travelled to Australia in 1852 with her eldest brother to seek their fortunes in the gold fields of Victoria. Dated from the University of Cambridge Libraries.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. The odd pencil annotation. Light age toning to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the title page.
