Illustrated, Leather Binding, Rebound

Oliver Goldsmith was an important and prolific Anglo-Irish author in the eighteenth century. The present work contains a collection of his works, including the important and famous work 'The Vicar of Wakefield,' miscellaneous poems, and plays 'She Stoops to Conquer' and 'The Good Natured Man.' 

Including a biographical sketch of his life and work. 

Illustrated with a frontispiece and numerous other vignette illustrations.

Condition

Rebound in half calf binding over marbled boards, with marbled edges and endpapers. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, boards lightly rubbed. J. Hopwood's bookplate to verso front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Minor spotting scattered to leaves, affecting first few leaves particularly, otherwise pages generally bright and clean.
