Comprising the complete issues for 1865 and 1867 of 'The Leisure Hour', a popular Victorian weekly that published from 1852-1905.
Uniformly bound in half calf, with cloth boards.
It was the most successful of several popular magazines from the Religious Tract Society, with each issue offering a mixture of fiction and factual stories, historical topical. The magazine's title referred to campaigns that had decreased work hours, giving workers extra leisure time.
1895 volume is illustrated with twelve plates, seven of which are coloured, and numerous in-text engravings. Collated, complete.

Condition
Uniformly bound in half calf, with cloth boards. Externally, very smart, with mild rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. With scattered spots throughout, concentrated largely to the endpapers and to the plates.
