The Princess is a narrative poem with dramedy elements written by Alfred Tennyson, Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom from 1850 to 1892.

The poem tells the story of a heroic princess who founds a women's university where men are forbidden to enter, but later has two men disguise as female students and fight for her hand.

The women's rights movement, including women's right to higher education, was still at an early stage at the time of this work's publishing, heightening the importance of such story and themes greatly.

Condition

In full crushed morocco binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities, heaviest to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with spotting to the endpapers and the odd spot throughout.
