1864 Parables from Nature
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
Seventh edition of this work. A charming Victorian children's book by Margaret Gatty, the second series in the original publisher's full cloth binding.
In this volume, the author utilises a mixture of enjoyable children's tales and her own scientific curiosity to argue against Charles Darwin's Origin of Species. In the usual Victorian fashion, Gatty uses God and nature to influence children with moral tales for a religious upbringing.
Illustrated with black and white plates.
Condition
In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, rubbed along spine and boards. Internally, binding generally firm. Odd light spotting to occasional leaf, otherwise pages generally bright and clean.
