The first edition of this work. Bound without the adverts, so the issue is unclear.

The titular poem concerns the principle in law that after being missing for a certain number of years, a person could be declared dead for purposes of inheritance and remarriage. This narrative poem follows Enoch as he is lost at sea and presumed dead by his family.

Written by Alfred Lord Tennyson, a noted Victorian poet who was the Poet Laureate for most of Queen Victoria's reign.

Bound without the half-title and the adverts.

Condition

In a full calf binding. Externally, smart, with light marks and rubbing to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the extremities. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spots.
