In this critique, Stebbing presents his views on all five books outlined in Mill's system, declaring his analysis to be "thoroughly readable" and "compatible with accuracy".

Condition

Bound in the publisher's cloth. Externally, worn, with front board detached but present. Loss to backstrip, with partial glue repair. Bumping and rubbing to boards. Rear hinge is strained, with cords visible and joints cracked. Internally textblock is firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with an ink notation to title page.
