    A five volume set, featuring the complete three volume set of 'History of the Conquest of Mexico', and the complete two volume set of 'History of the Conquest of Peru'.

    Illustrated with monochrome frontispieces, and one plate to each volume, including folding maps and facsimiles of signatures. Collated, complete. 

    Two historical series' by William H. Prescott, detailing the histories of Peru and Mexico. 'The History of the Conquest of Mexico' covers the life of the conqueror Hernando Cortez, with a preliminary view of the ancient Mexican civilisation, as well as Mexican mythography, hieroglyphics, agriculture and more. 'The History of Peru' covers the civilisation of the Incas, religion, the life of Francisco Pizarro and much more. 

    In a uniform full calf binding.

    Condition

    Bound in full calf. Externally, rubbed to the extremities and joints, with joints weak, several boards nearly detached, bumping to the extremities, and the odd minor mark spot to the boards. Front free endpaper and blank of 'Mexico Vol I' weak. Internally, the odd blank starting, otherwise firm with lightly age toned pages with the odd spot, heavier to the front and rears. Owner's ink signatures to 'Conquest Peru'.
