This novel is considered by many to be Dickens' masterpiece, and Dickens' himself referred to the book as being 'his favourite child'. As it was written in the middle of his career, it has been considered to be the turning point of his novels, and with it you can see the separation between his novels of youth and maturity.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, vignette title page, and thirty-eight plates. Collated, complete.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Back strip and board perimeters age toned. Tide mark to fore edge of front board. Small losses of cloth to back strip head and tail. Joints starting, with boards somewhat tender. Tidemarks to fore edge of front pastedown and front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Lacking final text leaf.
