The very scarce first edition of this French novel.

In half crushed morocco binding with gilt detailing to the spine. 

The story of a Christian family with its joys and trials, where the eldest daughter replaces the deceased mother.

Zenaide Fleuriot wrote eighty three novels, all aimed at young women, most of which were published in the series Bibliotheque rose and Bibliotheque bleue.

With an introduction by Alfred Nettement.

Condition

In half crushed morocco binding. Externally, smart. With rubbing to the extremities, heaviest to the spine, and marks to the boards. Sunning to the spine label. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with odd spot, heaviest to the first few leaves.
