This work is comprised of 'Horses and Hounds: A Practical Treatise of their Management' by "Scrutator", K. W. Horlock, with 'Taming of Wild Horses' by John Solomon Rarey. Rarey was a famous nineteenth-century horse whisperer who was known as a rehabilitator of abused horses during the 1850s.
This informative work includes information on horse and dog care, with chapters on feeding, taming, breeding and treatment, among many others.
With illustrations to accompany the text by Harrison Weir.
Condition
In half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, generally smart, with slight bumping to the extremities, moreso to the head of the spine. Rubbing to the extremities and spine. Lacking spine label. The odd mark. Front hinge is slightly strained between front endpaper and frontispiece. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with a touch of age toning and the odd small mark. Small tear to the head of the gutter of the frontispiece.
