A critique and analysis of the educational reforms introduced by the British government, particularly the Revised Code of 1862, also known as "Lowe's Code".

This was a set of regulations that established the "payment-by-results" system for education in the United Kingdom.

Advertisement leaf to rear.

Ink inscriptions to head of title page and advertisement leaf.

Rebound, with endpapers renewed.

The concerns expressed by Vaughan were widespread amongst educators at the time.

Condition

Rebound in quarter cloth, with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, fine. Endpapers renewed. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright. Ink inscription to title page head, and to head of advertisement leaf.
