Bound in quarter morocco, with marbled paper covered boards.
Containing the following works from leading Victorian novelist George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans):
'Silas Marner: The Weaver of Raveloe' (1861) - An outwardly simple tale of a linen weaver, noted for its strong realism and approach to a variety of issues such as religion and community.
'Impressions of Theophrastus Such' (1879) - Eliot's last published piece of writing and her most experimental, written as a series of literary essays by an imaginary minor scholar.
Condition
Bound in quarter morocco, with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, with slight fading to the spine and rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Half title pages for both 'Silas Marner' and 'Theophrastus' have been clipped to the top right corners. Pages are generally bright and clean, with age toning to the endpapers and scattered spots to the first and last few leaves.
