Bound in full paper vellum with gilt details to the boards and spine. 

This romance work, otherwise known by its American title 'The Marble Faun', was written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The work was written on the eve of the American Civil War and is set in Italy. The work combines gothic literature, travel guides and fables.

Condition

Bound in full paper vellum. Externally smart with fading and rubbing to the spines and handling marks. Internally firmly bound with age toning to the extremities with the odd spot.
