A very scarce work rebacked in a quarter calf binding with pictorial boards.

Illustrated with two plates. Collated, complete.

An entertaining volume full of nineteenth-century riddles, 'enigmas', charades, 'rebuses', forfeits, card tricks, puzzles and jokes. A very scarce work compiled by Edmund Russell.

Condition

Original pictorial boards rebacked. Externally sound, with significant rubbing to the spine and bumping to the extremities. A little shelf wear to the front board. The first three leaves are coming loose, but otherwise, internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with the odd spot and handling mark.
