Illustrated with one double-paged plate. Collated, complete.
A touching biographical reflection on the life and work of Edward Bury, a locomotive manufacturer. His work was influential, and he helped to develop many railways across Britain.
Written by Bury's wife, Priscilla Susan Bury, a botanist and illustrator who is noted for her scientific plant paintings.
Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the British Library.
Bookplate of F. J. Haut to the front paste down. Haut was the author of works on electric locomotives.
Condition
Rebound in a modern quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards, with renewed endpapers. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the extremities. A couple of marks to the boards. Spine is age-toned. A small amount of surface loss to the head of the front board. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with scattered spots. Small tear to the head of the plate, and an ink note to the recto.
