The first edition.

A very scarce work.

An essay on slavery by Sidney E. Morse, in which he presents two-hundred and thirty-two questions on the subject of slavery, addressed to the editors of the New York Independent and New York Evangelist, all questions which can be answered by yes or no.

Sidney Morse was an inventor and journalist, who was the editor of 'New York Observer', a pro-slavery newspaper. He was the brother of Samuel Morse.

An interesting piece of Americana published during the tumultuous years leading up to the outbreak of the Civil War in 1861.
