Bound in lovely modern crushed morocco with gilt details and marbled paper to the boards, endpapers renewed, half title retained.
Illustrated with a folding map to the rear, which has been hand coloured by a previous owner.
Sir Robert Thomas Wilson's historical narrative of the 1812 French invasion of Russia led by Napoleon, and their retreat. Wilson was a British army officer who was seconded to the Imperial Russian Army during the time of the invasion, provided an interesting first hand account of the event. The work was edited by his nephew Herbert Randolph.
Condition
Bound in half modern crushed morocco with marbled paper to the boards, endpapers renewed, half title retained. Externally lovely. Internally firmly bound with generally bright pages with the odd 'Malta Garrison Library' stamp to the front, and the odd spot, heavier to the front and rear. Closed tear to folding map, which has been hand coloured.
