What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Uncommon
The first edition of this uncommon work, disbound but internally firmly bound and intact.
Small ink inscription to the title page. Stamp to page 6.
Alfred Nettement (1805-1869) was a French publicist, literary critic and politician. As a traditionalist Catholic, he rejected the views of the pamphlet 'Le Pape et le Congres' (1859) by the French politician Louis Étienne Arthur du Breuil, vicomte de La Guéronnière (1816-1875).
'Le Pape et le Congres' concerns the temporal power of the Pope and whether it is necessary in exercising his spiritual power. Nettement wrote this pamphlet in response, studying each of the pamphlets arguments.
Condition
