Antoine Fauchery's important collection of letters written whilst he was exploring the gold mines in Australia. In these letters Fauchery explains his day to day life as he was a gold miner, and the society of the goldfields.
These letters were originally serialised in 'Le Moniteur Universel'.
Fauchery was a French explorer and photographer.
Condition
In the original publisher's paper wraps, in the original glassine wrap. Externally, generally smart. Small chip to the tail of the front wrap. Light marks to the wraps, including a small tide mark to the rear wrap. A little loss to the back strip. Ink to the rear wrap. Stamp to the reverse of the rear wrap. Tidemark to the reverse of the front wrap. Glassine wrap with some loss to the bacsktrip. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally celan with some spots, and a faint tide mark to some pages.
