Two volumes bound in one. Very scarce work. Volumes XIII and XIV only. A monthly magazine containing short stories, poetry, articles, and religious teachings for Christian readers. Volume XIII contains articles such as: The American Soldier, A Poor Pious Woman, and Sleepy Hearers. Volume XIV contains articles such as: The Working Women of England, The Great Assize, and Happy Nancy. Edited by Joseph Foulkes Winks, a British religious writer and editor.

Condition

In the original brown cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd mark to the boards. Front hinge just starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with light scattered spotting and the odd handling mark. Light age toning to the extremities. Contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown. Bound by Manderson, Brighton.
